On tour on the Isle of Rügen
| The apartment houses are situated centrally but quietly in the classical town of Putbus. Only a few minutes walk take you to the "Circus", to the theatre at Putbus' market place and to different shopping facilities. When walking through the little town and the landscaped park of 75 ha, you will discover many well-preserved classical buildings dating back to the foundation of Putbus. In the early 19th century Prince Wilhelm Malte I. designed Putbus as a residency and bathing resort. Today it is tried to preserve the "Circus", the church, the "Orangerie", the "Marstall" and other classical buildings in order to keep up Putbus` historical atmosphere. Facilities in most of these classical buildings are used for exhibitions and museums, e.g. the museum of dolls and toys and that of clocks and technology which are both worth a visit. There are many options for sporting activities in and around Putbus. You are welcome to relax with a picturesque landscape surrounding you, no matter whether you are going for a walk, cycling, riding, golfing or doing water sports. The former residency of Putbus is an ideal starting point for many trips across the Isle of Rügen. Moreover, the light houses at Kap Arkona, the "Stubbenkammer" with its famous chalk cliffs as well as the Isle of Hiddensee, inspiring many artists, are worth a visit. You should neither miss to discover the Hanseatic city of Stralsund, UNESCO world heritage since 2002. |
